Sheldon has been the co-founder of four startups—the first a software consulting firm (CCT) in his college dorm room (with Glenn Ricart). Since then he was the first Chief Information officer of PriceWaterhouse, the Chief Technology Officer of Novell, the co-founder of USWeb, the co-founder of CenterBeam, and the Chief Innovation Officer of PricewaterhouseCoopers. He lives with his wife and a pair of loving beagles in Silicon Valley, California. His favorite Artkick viewlist is the work of Albert Bierstadt.
Abe Ostrovsky was most recently Chairman of Centerbeam which provides IT services to businesses worldwide. Previously Ostrovsky was CEO and then Chairman of Accelio Corporation, acquired by Adobe in 2002. While Chairman of Accelio, Ostrovsky served as Chairman and CEO of Compressent. Prior to joining Accelio in 1991, he was concurrently SVP of Erskine House PLC, an office equipment distributor, and the chairman of Savin Florida, a subsidiary of Erskine House. Ostrovsky began his career with National Photocopy Corporation and managed the company’s acquisition by Savin Corporation. He is a trustee of The Contemporary Jewish Museum, and lives with his wife in San Francisco.
Glenn Ricart, PhD
A recent inductee into the Internet Hall of Fame, Glenn Ricart brings forty years of innovation in computer networking to Artkick. He served as EVP and CTO for Novell in the 1990s, Managing Director of PricewaterhouseCoopers, and CEO and President of National LambdaRail. Dr. Ricart is also either the founder or co-founder of five startups including CenterBeam. Glenn’s formal education includes degrees from Case Institute of Technology, Case Western Reserve University, and his Ph.D. in Computer Science is from the University of Maryland. He has served on the boards of three public companies, CACI, the SCO Organization, and First USA Financial Services, in addition to numerous non-profits.
Nancy Laube, M.D.
Dr. Nancy Laube is a professional photographer who specializes in urban landscapes. As a photo historian of the technology industry, she has created one of the largest archives of important leaders in the computer industry. Her works are widely collected by Silicon Valley luminaries. Nancy has been involved in education throughout her career. She holds an M.D. in Psychiatry, an M.A. in Early Childhood Education and has taught at Emory and Stanford Universities. She is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.
Leon Zhu is the lead developer for Artkick’s infrastructure. Previously he operated as an information technology professional active in the renewable energy industry, where he focused on the integration of smart grids with renewable energy resources. He attended Zhejiang University, UC Davis and received his M.S. in Engineering from Stanford University in 2013.
Beth has over 25 years of experience in customer care, most recently as the VP of Customer Service at CenterBeam. Before CenterBeam,Beth held various management positions at Remedy, a company she joined as an early employee. She launched the company’s Customer Service Organization, the Professional Services Organization, and created a Strategic Accounts Support program.Earlier in her career, Beth held various customer facing positions at Hewlett Packard, Apollo Computer and Lockheed. She has also volunteered with several non-profit organizations including USA Together and Girl’s Lacrosse.
Chris has over 25 years of sales and marketing experience with small startups and large public companies. Most recently he ran marketing and business development for Page Mage, an award winning developer of applications for eCommerce marketplace sellers. Chris previously ran worldwide marketing for USWeb/CKS from pre-funding through IPO. He has driven product marketing for 11 software products that were either #1 or #2 in their category. Chris also served on the Board of Directors of the American Marketing Association - Silicon Valley and the San Jose State University Spartan Foundation, raising money for student-athlete scholarships.
